We’re so jaded by things like this because we expect so much. Technology has dulled our senses by making the impossible seem routine. This isn’t CGI or explosions or car chases with super heros and evil villains, so it’s boring and mundane.
It is incredible that in the middle of a frozen ocean a ship with thousands of tons of cargo and a few people came together at a point so precise that the pilot could casually step on to a moving ship and make it look effortless.
The way the video was presented made the moment he stepped aboard almost anticlimactic, but the drone shot put the enormity of the task into perspective.
I was contemplating everything that it takes to make that exact moment happen.
I think it is incredible.
